Banish Hunger  |  Stand with Compassion

The following lesson is a 45-minute teacher led Bible-based-activity that can be used in confirmation, youth group, religion class and/or Sunday school. Students will learn the true story of an AIDS orphan named Masese. They will also look at the Bible story of the feeding of the 5000. Throughout the session, students will shell peanuts to gain appreciation of how complex the task of providing sufficient food can be in Africa. The Bible-based-activity also encourages students to learn more about hunger in Africa from the Stand With Africa web site and educate their congregation, or school about the Stand With Africa campaign.
