Liberia—Phebe Community Health.

Partners: ELCA and Phebe Hospital.

DESCRIPTION:

The community health outreach programs of Phebe Hospital to the large catchments area in Bong County for this hospital, is the government-designated health center as a church-related hospital and training center in central Liberia.

Community health outreach and outpatient treatment are two aspects of Phebe’s program, which have been initiated in the post-war period.


OBJECTIVES:


To provide a community health team from Phebe hospital to the villages of Bong County.

To provide vaccination teams to the villages.

To train nursing students at Phebe Hospital School of Nursing for community health service.

To improve the health of all people—especially mothers and children—in the service area of Phebe.

To provide community health services specifically related to the post-war period.
